Today Uncle Stonnie is answering the question, Is My Child Ready For Their Very Own Puppy?
In this video we provide some awesome pro tips and strategies for helping families evaluate and prepare children for puppy raising responsibilities! A key, and often overlooked, question in the dog and puppy training world is whether or not a family is actually ready to bring a puppy into their lives. Raising, training, and caring for a puppy is a very labor intensive process and all too often the labor ends up being distributed in a non equitable manner.
When the labor isn't fairly allocated the main caregiver often gets overwhelmed and isn't able to care for the puppy in an appropriate manner. Puppies all too often end up being relegated to the back yard, crate, or basement which results in a whole host of future behavioral issues.
This video is intended to provide families with a simple set of principles that will help determine if, and when, it's the right time to welcome a new puppy into one's family!
